About the Author

Lisa Luttrell

Lisa Luttrell grew up in Pennsylvania. Her mother is a voice teacher, and her father William Luttrell III is an author. Her parents were the perfect pairing of creative and practical. At a young age she was told to chase her dreams. Lisa attended an all-girls school, which taught her the importance of strong female leads in literature. She graduated from the University of Delaware, and after college, she worked in the design field.

She spent her summers in Ocean City, N.J. While biking past the Music Pier she was struck by inspiration, and the character of Calliope Peck – and her unique gift – was born. Lisa decided she had to become a writer to share her stories with the world. This prompted her to write The Music Pier Murder, A Calliope Peck Mystery. This novel is the first in a historical-fiction murder-mystery series entitled The Calliope Peck Mysteries.

The Music Pier Murder
A Calliope Peck Mystery

The Music Pier Murder, A Calliope Peck Mystery is the first of The Calliope Peck Mysteries, a series of historical-fiction murder-mysteries set in 1929. The brand-new Music Pier is opening, proof that Ocean City, New Jersey, has recovered from the Great Boardwalk Fire of 1927. But a cannon explodes on stage during the 4th of July concert, killing the Maestro. The police think it was an accident. But Calliope Peck – an oboist and curious young widow – has a subconscious that tells her otherwise. Follow Calliope as she uses the powers of her unique-but-maddening musical-subconscious to try to catch a murderer in flapper-era Ocean City.
